As soon as you plug in, Gridio stops you charging if it's too expensive and plans your smart charging session based on your battery % and departure time.

2. Download the Gridio app from the App Store or Google Play.
3. Pair your Audi electric by registering your VIN code. Then just tell us when your car needs to be charged by and you are ready to go!
No cables, no smart charger, no hassle. We do recommend you to have a dynamic energy tariff contract to maximise your cost reductions!
Smart Charging gets activated if you plug in at any of of the locations that is stored in your in-car settings. Smart charging is automatically disabled if you charge at a DC charger, or not at one of the stored locations.
You can manage your stored locations in your vehicle infotainment system:
1. Open Charging on the in-car screen
2. Go to Charging Locations
3. Add the current location of your car (normally your home)
PHEV drivers: location profiles are not supported in-car, so smart charging activates with all AC charging sessions. To avoid smart charging e.g. at work between 9:00-17:00 use the "Inactive hours" feature after setup.
Gridio can prioritize charging from your home solar power:
If your solar inverter is connected to a smart meter, Gridio reads your real-time export and charges only with excess solar.
If not, no problem — we’ll ask for your typical home usage to estimate when surplus solar is available.
Gridio modulates the charging of your Audi according to your solar output, to charge either at full or half-power (only 100% electrics support modulation).
Yes. Gridio only accesses the data needed to optimize your EV charging, such as battery level and plug-in status. All data is encrypted and handled in full compliance with GDPR and VW Group API standards.
