3. Log in with your BMW or MINI account to securely connect your vehicle and set up smart charging in the BMW Group interface. Then just tell us when your car needs to be charged by and you are ready to go!

To ensure data security, Gridio can only access and control the charging at your home in the location you provide to BMW Group. Gridio does not see this location.

Gridio can prioritize charging from your home solar power:
If your solar inverter is connected to a smart meter, Gridio reads your real-time export and charges only with excess solar.
If not, no problem — we’ll ask for your typical home usage to estimate when surplus solar is available.
For BMW and Mini, you can set a solar threshold to control when charging begins — ensuring minimal use of grid electricity.
Yes. Gridio only accesses the data needed to optimize your EV charging, such as battery level and plug-in status. All data is encrypted and handled in full compliance with GDPR and BWW Group API standards.
