BMW has made it clear: only approved partners will remain supported for vehicle-based smart charging going forward. Gridio is now on that list.

With official API access, we can:

• Securely control your charging based on real-time data
• Schedule charging at the lowest-cost and greenest hours
• Give you a simple, hardware-free experience

Just plug in and let Gridio handle the rest.

How to Set It Up

1. Please update Gridio app to the latest version
2. In the Gridio app, go to Connections
3. (If your car is already connected → Click the 🗑️ Recycle Bin icon to remove your existing BMW/MINI connection)
4. Tap Add Connection and select BMW or MINI
5. Log in using your BMW ID
6. Follow the BMW screen to:
   • Choose your vehicle
   • Set your smart charging location (this must be where your car is plugged in)
   • Confirm sharing access with Gridio
7. Set your Ready-by time, and you’re done!

The next time you plug in at home, we’ll automatically smart charge your EV based on your energy or solar setup.

Requirements

• BMW or MINI EV or PHEV
• Remote Services via BMW ConnectedDrive
• Vehicle location sharing enabled
• Optionally, you can manage access at: ocapi.aws.bmw.cloud
